what's happening..

Sun Dec 21, 2008, 1:40 AM
In case anyone has been wondering why there's been nothing new on here, I've been indulging in my #1 passion, music. It's going pretty well, and it fills that hole that only gets filled through creativity.

I'm really looking forward to doing things in the visual sphere again though, but am holding off until I can afford a tablet, since the way I work would benefit from one. Otherwise it's too time consuming and I'm sure you all agree that time is valuable.

Happy holidays and thanks for all the views and favorites. It's a great feeling knowing that my work appeals to people other than me.

You have one hell of an amazing gallery!!! What are you using to render? The Scorpion, that just blows my mind!!!

It's all photoshop. I just use a lot of pen and airbrush tool. It's not the fastest way of working and it's tedious as hell, but it seems to work the best for me. It's the most like drawing or painting.

I should buy a tablet at some point to speed things up.

OMG, that was all done in photoshop!!! It looks like a render and a great one at that. I cant believe you are doing that and with out a pen tablet. My ex got me on and tho they take time to get used to, they are pretty damn neat to use. Anyhow, wonderful work man!! How did you do the chrome and actually know how to make it look like chrome? Did you use something for a reference?

I used a photo and drew over the top of it, so in one way it's sort of a photo manipulation.

Basically, i made the dark areas darker and the lighest parts white. There's a fair bit of imagination and trial and error, but you can do that digitally without it getting messy.

Having said that, you wouldn't get the same result just playing with contrast.
